SALAMA "Career Portfolio Development"

SALAMA was established mid 2004 aiming at east Africans living in the United Kingdom mainly based in Southwark. The organisation aims to provide and facilitate recreational facilities and other leisure time activities in the interest of social welfare with a view of improving the life style of its users. It also aims to promote and preserve the cultures and languages of east Africans by advance education. SALAMA strive the relief of poverty by provision of general advice, health advice, information and support.

SALAMA developed a career development portfolio for refugees and black ethnic minority groups. The portfolio aimed at those who are looking for employment and need help in confidence building, job search skills using internet, interview skills and one to one support on continual basis.

Since joining the forum SALAMA gained support and benefited from the organisation on different levels such as management support, access to information, advice on one to one basis.
